Proposal At The Race Track!

Dave and I had been together for 16 months when July 21,2000 came around. You see, Dave races stock cars and it was a big night for him. We had invited my family and our friends since some of them hadn't got to watch him race ever. His car owner was sponsoring the nights races and early in the night he was the center of attention. They made Dave take a lap around the track, before the national anthem. When he came to the front of the main grandstands he stopped and got out of his car and was given a microphone.

I thought this was to thank all his sponsors and his pit crew for all their hard work throughout the season. He did do all that, but right when I thought he was done he asked if he could have me come down onto the track. I was oblivious as to what was about to happen. I proceeded down the stairs from the stands and out onto the track to find Dave with a dozen red and pink roses. He handed me the roses and then got down on one knee and asked me if I would marry him. Without hesitation, I said, "Yes!".

The crowd of 3,500 people cheered and clapped. Dave is not the most romantic and I am a hard one to keep secrets from so when I was told that he had been planning all of this for 6 months and had asked my dad for permission 7 months ago I decided then that he is alot more romantic than I gave him credit for.

We have set a date of November 3, 2001 and can't wait! Kelli
